- SAN DIEGO, CA JUNE 26, 1991: Low cost floating point for the LC and IIsi. The
- LCFP from Quantum Leap Systems is a floating point co-processor board for the
- Macintosh LC. The LCFP measures approximately 2.25 x 4.5 inches and contains
- either a Motorola 68881 or 68882 math co-processor. The '881 runs at either 16
- or 20 MHz, the '882 runs at 16, 20 or 25 MHz. The LCFP attaches to the Mac's
- Processor Direct Slot (PDS) and uses the Mac's main memory. The LCFP has no
- RAM of its own. The LCFP is user instalable, no software INITs or CDEV's are
- required. Simply plug in the board and boot the machine. Applications which
- require floating point will automatically take advantage of the LCFP.
